Medical - Electronic Health Records

As medical offices and institutions "go paperless" creating "Green Jobs", the Electronic Health Records Specialist program provides students with the opportunity to pursue a career that is on the cutting edge of this new technology.

Students in this program will learn the required skills of a Healthcare Information Professional and be well versed in today's most in-demand software skills. Students will gain knowledge and develop the skills in Medical Terminology, Medical Coding, Health Information, and Medical Law/Ethics. Additionally, students are exposed to the growing importance of patient rights, security, and privacy of medical records - HIPAA (Healthcare Insurance, Portability & Accountability Act). Students will receive in-depth training in Electronic Health Records as well as legalities and ethical behaviors associated with a medical practice/facility.
